Visitors Testimonials

" We have stayed in several self catering cottages in Wells next the Sea over recent years, but Seashell is by far our favourite. We enjoyed our recent stay so much that we have booked a further three visits for next year. We like the location by the harbour and bus stops, and close to the shops. The cottage is homelike and peaceful and has all that is needed for a comfortable stay. We particularly like the charming single bedroom. In all, we are looking forward very much to our next visit".

"A little Gem. We honestly can't think of anything which would increase the comfort of our stay. You and Niki had thought of everything and in all honesty have probably spoilt us for future accommodations which are likely to fall short of yours ! Ashton was thrilled to be included in the welcome gifts with a chocolate treat which was so thoughtful of you and ours were also much appreciated. Thank you."

"We first came across this little cottage six years ago and fell in love with it, so much so we now stop here twice a year. The welcome from"greeter" Niki is always warm and sets the week off just right. The cottage is nice, cosy and clean and to us it's like visiting an old friend. The location, We find, is excellent for just about everything. Out of the back door straight into the "Captains Table" for good food and drink, bus stop at the bottom of the Glebe for jaunts out, plus beach rd and Staiths street for shopping all within easy walking distance. We intend this to be our bolt hole from the stress of city living for some time to come. Highly recommended."

"With the log burner and central heating we were as warm as toast even in the 'Land of the lazy Wind' The Norfolk winder staircase leading to the two cosy bedrooms gave this retired couple the nearest experience to Pole dancing we're likely to find! A very well equipped and comfortable Cottage. A delightful little holiday retreat to enjoy."

"We have just returned from another week based at Seashell Cottage. As always the friendly reception at the cottage, its convenient location and its clean and cosy nature made an excellent weeks birding very special. It's great to know that at the end of a long journey awaits a perfect escape from the rush of life. Thanks as always for making us feel so welcome."

"Having spent a relaxing week in the lovely Seashell Cottage we cannot wait to come back next year. Wells is our favourite retreat and Seashell Cottage enhanced our holiday this year. It gave us the atmosphere of a cosy Cottage and provided all the comforts of home. Thank you for the warm welcome and for Marylou's good taste "

"We appreciated the warm, personal and helpful welcome and 'goodies' we received on our arrival. Seashell Cottage is in a fabulous location close to the Harbour and local shops which we like to support. Great not to have to use a Supermarket for the whole week! The highlight of our stay was seeing a Seal basking in the sun on Christmas Day."

We love your little Cottage and it's so well equipped. So good to be close enough to go crabbing in the morning and then take the kit back before heading off again. A real Home from Home. Thank you.

We love Wells Next to the Sea. For us Seashell Cottage has become a lovely home from home. It's a warm, welcoming cottage, well equipped, clean and in a great location. We love walking and wildlife watching along the Norfolk Coast, and the cottage gives us a super base from which to do this, with the Coasthopper bus stop close by, and somewhere cosy and comfortable to come back to, especially on those wild and windy spring days. Marylou and Niki ensure that your stay gets off to a super start, the welcome pack and fresh flowers are a lovely touch. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when in Wells and always look forward to our next relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Gill and Colin, Cumbria and Norfolk

I have been using Seashell Cottage for several years as a base for my autumn birdwatching week in Norfolk. It is ideally situated for using the Coasthopper bus service to get to all the coastal bird reserves and the local stores (and fish and chip shops) are convenient for a self-cartering holiday. The cottage is clean and comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. I have always been made very welcome and have greatly enjoyed my stays - so much so that I have started visiting in spring as well!

We have been coming to Seashell cottage now for ten years and it is just like coming home. As we usually stay during October and are walking most of the day, it is important that we come home to a warm comfortable cottage, and it is certainly that. The decor is tasteful and the bed extremely comfortable The cottage is cosy and well equipped. There is always a warm welcome from Nikki with a box of local goodies on arrival, and fresh flowers in the hearth. Seashells is in the perfect position in Wells, being very close to the harbour on a quiet side road. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and two supermarkets as well as a bakery, butchers and delicatessen. Thank you Marylou for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful little cottage in one of our favourite places in England.
